New Pattern, New Yarn Combos: Radiant Ripples Tee

New Pattern, New Yarn Combos
Too many choices, not enough sweaters…

This week, Gillian’s been trying very hard not to cast on a new sweater—but the universe keeps nudging her. First, a customer came in working on a dreamy knit. Then she realized she had a whopping 96g left from her last project (basically a full skein!). Add to that some gorgeous new yarn arrivals and a cloud that suspiciously said CAST ON THE NEW PROJECT!, and well… you can probably guess where this is going.

The pattern?

Radiant Ripples Tee by Alina Appasova

Okay, this pattern isn’t new per se, but it’s new to us—and it’s only been out for about a year.

It’s a seamless, top-down summer tee featuring a lightly textured slip-stitch pattern and all the stripe potential your heart desires. Starting with a rolled neckline and short-row shaping, it moves into a circular yoke and simple body and sleeve construction. It’s designed to be both comfy and endlessly customizable, and it comes in sizes XS to 5XL.

This one popped up in our Dear Knit Nerd question this week too—a knitter was asking about swapping cotton for wool. Fun coincidence: the designer has knit four versions of this tee, each showing off how different fibres behave in the pattern. Here’s a quick peek from the Ravelry page:

“Fiber choices… I chose to knit my first 2 samples in soft pima cotton to stay comfortable in Texas heat and humidity. Those samples are more structured and textured. Sample 3 is worked in a merino/silk blend (we have this in stock!!) that creates a drapey fabric. Sample 4 is worked in cotton/viscose blends that create a fabric that is both cool and drapey. You can choose any DK weight yarn that fits the gauge.”

We’ve made a little chart below to show off the samples, but we recommend heading over to Ravelry to check out all the details and project photos.

Now, about that sweater that started it all…

Karen is working on her own Radiant Ripples Tee using Noro Sonata, Noro Sonata Shima, and Berroco Remix. And honestly? It’s gorgeous.

The pattern calls for DK weight yarn, so we’ve pulled together a few colour combos using Noro Sonata, Sonata Shima, and Berroco Remix Light. Can you guess which one is Gillian’s top pick?

Keep an eye on our socials—we’ll be sharing some Malabrigo Silky Merino options soon too!
