New Pattern Releases for June & July to Inspire and Spark Creativity

Seeing as it’s the summer holidays and many are on break, this month we are going to focus on some recent pattern releases…to inspire and spark creativity.

It’s summer, it's hot (so many heat wave warnings! 🥵) and the sun is shining. First up are a few picks released in June / July 2024 that will be cool on those hot summer days – some knitted tanks.

The City by Tori Yu is quickly becoming a fan favourite.  Tori’s patterns are stylish, chic wardrobe staples and this one is sure to be a popular one.  It’s knitted top down, in fingering weight yarn.

Last week, Samantha Guerin released another beautiful pattern, the Seagrass Tank.  It’s knitted from the top, down again in fingering weight. It is a beautiful pattern featuring a lace detail from the armholes down the body.  It’s already gaining popularity on Ravelry (and in some of our favourites).

And lastly the Tolsta Tank from Rebecca Clow. This pattern is offered in two weights and you can choose from a wide range of styles – from spaghetti straps to a vest, with a rounded, square, or v-neck.

Think of all the possibilities you can make using what we have in stock with Full Moon Fibre Solar Sock, Leo and Roxy Sock or Holst Garn Supersoft. Ahh... the possibilities are endless to create beautiful closet staples for summertime.

And lastly, as it is our month of crochet we want to include a hot off-the-press crochet pattern.

🎶 “Say you’ll remember me” 🎶  standing in a crochet dress staring at the sunset (not exactly the same lyrics but it works for us!)

Thank you Taylor Swift for exploding every crocheter's heart and Instagram feeds by wearing your recent shift tunic dress in London (we only wish it was Ontario).

Patterns have been popping up as designers are quick to make similar renditions of this famous dress. We browsed a few of them and found one that you may wish to make for yourself or that Swiftie in your life.

So far the best pattern we found is the Taylor Swift Granny Dress in aran weight cotton. For a beautiful cotton drape tunic, you can use Juniper Moon Farm Cumulus which is on sale right now and has a beautiful array of colours to choose from.  No need to copy Tay Tay’s exact colours – that’s already been done. We are always happy to help you choose your own colour combination!
