Interview Questions

How did you first discover Little Red Mitten? When did you join our team at LRM?
I first discovered LRM shortly after it was opened by Joan. I was also newly retired from teaching at Fanshawe. Shortly after the store's 1st anniversary Joan offered me a position and I grabbed it.

Knitter or Crocheter?
Although I love all needlework crafts, knitting is my first love.

What’s your favourite yarn?
I don't really have a favourite brand of yarn (except L&R of course) as long as it is soft to the hand.

Favourite Weight/Fibre?
I primarily knit sweaters and socks, so fingering is my prefered weight.

What’s your favourite colour(s)?
I gravitate to teals + purples but I also like natural colours.

What are you currently working on? What are you planning to cast on?
I currently have two sweaters on needles as well as a scarf, but there are socks waiting to be cast on.

Describe your ideal day.
My perfect day is everyday as long as there is some knitting involved.

What have you been up to since retirement?
Since retiring from LRM I do whatever I want whenever I want.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out with knitting/crochet/etc?
My only advice to a new knitter is to be kind to yourself. It is important to make mistakes. Those are your learning opportunities. Be patient; you willget better with practise. Think of knitting as a sport..the more you practice the better you will get!!

Great advice for new and oldish knitters who can be too hard or critical on their projects.
