Will It I-Cord?

Gillian here, and yes… it’s true. I am officially obsessed with the i-cord maker. Every time I see a new yarn, I immediately wonder: will it i-cord? I can’t help it.

And yes, I know what you’re thinking… what exactly am I going to do with all this i-cord? Honestly? Still figuring that out. If you have ideas, send them my way! I’ve got a few plans already, and you’ll see them pop up as this series continues.

Now, about the machine itself. We were lucky enough to get one from Caydo and, so far, it’s been fantastic. I’ve put it through a lot already and it’s still going strong. It’s easy to set up, the instructions are clear, and it has three different speeds. Best of all? If the yarn snags or there’s too much tension, the machine simply stops instead of trying to fight through it.

First up: Random sock/fingering weight yarn.

Back in January, I saw the cutest idea on Instagram — hearts made from i-cord. So I dug through my stash and found some random red sock yarn. Honestly, the fact that I even had red yarn was surprising considering it’s probably my least favourite colour.

Anyways… I made some i-cord and yes, sock yarn passed the test with flying colours. No real surprise there. A little hot glue later and voilà: tiny i-cord hearts, just in time for Valentine’s Day!
