This modern plant art kit is an enjoyable way to ease into flat needle felting. Simply fill in the printed fabric picture with wool, similar to working with an embroidery or cross-stitch pattern. This is the felting equivalent of paint-by-number. Display it in a special place, or gift it to your plant-loving friend or family member.
Needle felting is a fun and stress-relieving art form. Its a lovely group activity to do with a few of your favorite people or equally suited to quiet self time. Here at Felted Sky we encourage you to make room in your life for creativity.
Felting time: around 5 hrs. depending on individual felting speed.
Kit is beautifully packaged and includes:
Beginner’s Guide to Needle Felting (a bit of general information)
Instruction Sheet with tips and techniques
Link to video instructions (highly recommended!)
Two color-coded felting needles in a handy paper tube
Linen fabric pattern (printed in color)
High quality 7 in. wooden hoop
Muslin fabric square
You will also need:
Scissors and glue to secure the picture in the hoop once it is finished.
A mat to use as a work surface. Choose from foam or wool. Foam is the most economical but wears out the fastest. Wool is eco-friendly, very long lasting and works particularly well for this project but is a higher up front investment.
This kit is intended for adults and kids over 10 yrs. who possess good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with focus and care. (Caution – felting needles are sharp!)

More About Felted Sky
We are a family run business. Elizabeth found needle felting when our oldest daughter started at a Waldorf school in 2011 and the rest grew from there. She started selling wool on Etsy in 2012 from her first shop and Felted Sky was launched on Etsy in late 2013. After a stint selling lots of wool and wool photo props to newborn photographers from our sister shop Oh So Fleeting, Elizabeth is back to focusing all of her energy on Felted Sky. With needle felting continuing to grow in popularity, and because of our big plans for growing the business, Joshua started working in the business in 2017. Elizabeth’s mom and dad also help out a lot when they are visiting.
We love sparking creativity in others and it warms our hearts when we get pictures back from our customers of what they’ve been making. With needle felting being so therapeutic and stress-relieving, we like to think that we’re also spreading inner peace through needle felting. The best days are when a customer tells us that our shop (and needle felting) has changed their life for the better. We think that needle felting is going to keep growing for years to come as more people find it and try it and we’re excited to be part of that growth. There is still so much potential for creative exploration within this young fiber art!
