Intro to Mittens with Pam
Learn to make cozy mittens! In this class you will be working through the Maize Mitten pattern by Tin Can Knits. You will gain confidence increasing for the thumb gusset, keeping in patten and picking up and knitting stitches for the thumb. You can make fingerless mitts or full mittens. This class will open up a world of knitting, including all the skills you need for your first sweater!
Pattern:
Please download Maize by Tin Can Knits prior to class, printed copies will be available during class.
Requirements:
- Must be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and working in the round on DPNS, or Magic Loop
HOMEWORK:
- Please complete the ribbing of one mitten of your size choice prior to class so that you have optimal time to work on the construction of the gusset and thumb during class.
Materials to bring:
- 4mm DPNs, or 32"-40" circulars if you are already comfortable with Magic Loop
- WORSTED weight yarn, such as Cascade 220 Superwash Merino, or Vintage Worsted
- Reminder: Students receive a 10% discount on most in-store purchases on their class day. We will happily guide you to a great project you will be comfortable with.
Duration & Format
- 1 - 3 hour class
Additional Information
- All classes require a minimum of 3 students so invite a friend to come with you!
- In the event that the minimum is not met, you will receive an email notification 5 days before the class to notify you that the class has been rescheduled/cancelled.
