Corona Cowl and Liberty Cowl

Let’s face it, at this time of year, we’re looking for quick knits! Maybe some of the projects you had planned as gifts are going to have to wait for the new year. But as you wrap up that yarn and pattern with a promise wouldn’t it be nice to include a little something that is actually ready-to-wear?

The Corona/Liberty Cowl may be just the ticket… although we have lots of other ideas, too, like the Outlander Cowl and Fingerless Mittens or the Railway City Cowl (pattern available in-store only but free with purchase of the yarn). Back to the Corona/Liberty Cowl… it can be knitted up in a couple of evenings if you spend a good chunk of time watching TV! And you can mix it up with all sorts of yarn choices.

Corona in Curaco

Here is  the Corona Cowl in a couple of our newer yarns: Filtura Di Crosa Gioiello (Green Teal) and Araucania Curaco (307). The Curaco is sumptuously soft while the Gioiello adds a lot of glam! This could be your perfect holiday accessory… oh, but yes, we were working on gifts… I’m sure there’s someone on your list who would love it as much as you would. Try the Corona in any fine mohair such as Rowan Kidsilk Haze or Debbie Bliss Angel paired with any chunky yarn such as Curaco or Spray.

Liberty Cowl London Ontario Canada

It’s a completely different look, but equally simple to knit up quickly, in Liberty Wool. With these long colour-changes, you end up with excellent striping and you’ll find colours suitable for any gender. You could try the Liberty in any worsted weight yarn such as Manos del Uruguay Maxima or the new, and lovely, Ella Rae Lace Merino Aran. (Don’t be confused by the name – it really is an aran weight.)
