We hope you’ll check out the newest addition to Little Red Mitten’s pattern collection, the Colonel Talbot Scarf.
Designed with newer knitters in mind, this scarf has a lot to offer everyone. It’s classic appearance means it can be worn by anyone, and it’s simple design and clear instructions mean it can be knitted by almost anyone.
For experienced knitters, the Colonel Talbot Scarf offers relaxing, auto-pilot knitting and can be worked up quickly while travelling, visiting with friends, or maybe even while reading a book. Instructions for the optional crochet cast on mean that your cast on edge looks exactly like your cast off edge.
For newer knitters, here’s a chance to practice the knit stitch, with just one purl stitch per row (…and the pattern explains how to use markers to help you remember that one purl stitch!) You can challenge yourself and try the crochet cast on, or just use your usual method. We think you’ll love working the lovely I-cord edges while practicing this simple new skill.
These scarves were all knitted with just 2 balls of worsted weight yarn. From the top:
